This project repurposed and expanded a 50’s Dairy Queen into a space for creative work, and an exhibition space for the creators' wares. As Project Manager, I directed a group of artists and artisans to construct and fit out a handmade space. Sculpted equisetum columns support a midcentury gull-wing roof, hand-plastered straw bale softly encapsulates the structure, resulting in a pillowy texture with dramatic shadows. The space was bespoke with furniture carved from reclaimed mulberry and walnut, and chiseled stone artworks rest on a mosaic inset Monterey Quartz slab.
